Beginner+ Kitesurf Group Lesson

Price: £140 Per Person

Group size: only 1 - 4 students per group

Duration: 4 - 5 hours based on group size

IKO levels 1 & 2 (Straight into the water)

Learn at a fully certified IKO kite school

Taught by experienced IKO instructors

Now that you've learnt the basics in our beginner kite group, we'll be heading straight into the water. We'll teach you how to steer using the kite, body drag and perform a self rescue. Follow this lesson up with our intermediate group.

Information About This Course

WHATS COVERED IN THIS COURSE?

  • Kitesurfing theory.

  • Understanding the wind, weather, and tides.

  • How to set up an inflatable kite.

  • Using the kites safety systems.

  • Flying an LEI (inflatable) kite in the sea.

  • Water relaunching an LEI kite.

  • Body-dragging with the kite.

  • Body-dragging while creating power with the kite.

  • Body-dragging upwind

  • Self landing the kite.

  • Equipment packing.

  • Minimum age for this kite group lesson is 16 years old.

  • The minimum age for private kite lessons is 12 years old.

  • To book a group lessons for pupils between the age of 12-16, please book a private kite group.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

  • Wetsuit (Compulsory)

  • Wetsuit shoes (Highly Recommended) to protect your feet from sharp shells

  • If you haven't got your own wetsuit or shoes don't panic.

  • Wetsuits and wetsuit shoes can be purchased from our online shop and shipped directly to your home address.

  •  Wetsuits and wetsuit shoes can also be purchase on the day of your activity from our Pevensey bay shop. Please check this coincides with our store opening hours. If not, give us a call on 01323766650 and we'll arrange to open the shop early. This way you can try some wetsuits and shoes on and purchase before the lesson takes place.

  • Bring warm clothes for after the lesson

WHERE WILL WE MEET? 

  • Meet your instructor at the Be-Rad Watersports shop in Pevensey Bay BN24 6AU.

  • This is where you will meet and greet your group, and sign in if you haven't already done so.

  • Kitesurfing is a weather dependant sport meaning that the location can sometimes differ depending on the wind direction.

  • Fortunately our school is situated directly in the middle of a bay. This gives us lots of kitesurf spots within a 5-10 minute radius.

  • In the unlikely even that none of the nearby locations are suitable. We have other locations further afield. If the lesson is to take place at one of these locations we will notify you a few days before.
