LESSON LOCATIONS
Our home spot and base is in Pevensey Bay, East Sussex. The surrounding area has some world-class kitesurf and stand up paddleboard locations. Using a number of these, we will be able to handpick the spot boasting the best conditions on the day of your lesson. Below are our top four spots!
PEVENSEY BAY
Pevensey Bay is a hidden gem! A shingle beach at high tide gives way to a beautiful sandy open beach at low tide. There are public toilet facilities within walking distance of the kite/SUP spot and lots of free parking available. While you're here why not take a walk to Pevensey Castle, the landing place of William the Conqueror's army in 1066.
BEST FOR: Kitesurfing & Paddleboarding
IDEAL WIND DIRECTION (KITE): South-Southwest through to North-East winds are perfect for running kitesurf lessons in Pevensey Bay.
COODEN BEACH
When the wind has a bit too much westerly in it for Pevensey Bay, we use Cooden Beach. Cooden is only a ten-minute drive from our base making it very accessible. At mid-tide, you'll find some lovely waves for SUP surfing.
BEST FOR: Kitesurfing & SUP Surfing
IDEAL WIND DIRECTION (KITE): A South-West wind is the optimum direction for Cooden Beach.
GREATSTONE
Greatstone beach is one of our favorite kite locations. It is the perfect spot for learning how to ride upwind, master new techniques, or land your first trick. It is a very mellow spot with perfect flat water in between the small waves. Here you will find a vast open sandy beach. Get ready for a long walk out to the water, we class it as our warm-up!
BEST FOR: Kitesurfing
IDEAL WIND DIRECTION (KITE): North or North-East winds are favorable for Greatstone
CUCKMERE RIVER
The Cuckmere Valley is a National Trust park. A superb paddleboarding location with stunning views over the seven sisters, the Cuckmere Valley is a haven for wildlife. Just across the main road, you'll find Friston Forest, an excellent mountain biking forest with a variety of singletrack trails for all levels.
BEST FOR: Paddleboarding
