Our Day 2 beginner kitesurf course is the next step in your kitesurf journey having completed our Day 1 kitesurf course. Learn some more progressive body drags plus learn how to water-start and get your first rides in each direction with the board.

WHATS COVERED IN THIS COURSE?

  • Recap some essential content including wind window, safety release, water relaunch.

  • Refresh and refine your body drags.

  • Upwind body drag.

  • Upwind body drag with the board.

  • Self rescue and pack down.

  • "Right of way" rules.

  • How to put the board on your feet while controlling the kite.

  • Steady pull with board on feet.

  • Waterstarts in each direction with the board.

  • First rides in each direction.

  • Minimum age for this course is 16 years old (Please see below for exemptions/full details).

  • All participants under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian for the duration of the course.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

  • Swim trunks.

  • Towel.

  • Sun cream.

  • Sun glasses.

  • Warm clothes.

  • Wetsuit (Compulsory).

  • If you haven't got your own wetsuit don't panic, we sell a large range from entry level up to the best in the business.

  • Wetsuits can be purchased from our online shop and shipped directly to your home.

  •  Wetsuits can also be purchase on the day of your lesson from our Pevensey bay shop. Simply arrive an hour prior to the scheduled lesson start time, this will allow sufficient time to try on a range of wetsuits. We will help you pick the best suit for your needs.

  • Packed lunch for some courses if they run over lunchtime.

WHERE WILL WE MEET? 

  • Meet your instructor at the Be-Rad Watersports shop in Pevensey Bay BN24 6AU.

  • This is where you will meet and greet your group, and sign in if you haven't already done so.

  • Kitesurfing is a weather dependant sport meaning that the location can sometimes differ depending on the wind direction.

  • Fortunately our school is situated directly in the middle of a bay. This gives us lots of kitesurf spots within a 5-10 minute radius.

  • In the unlikely even that none of the nearby locations are suitable. We have other locations further afield. If the lesson is to take place at one of these locations we will notify you a few days before.

The Minimum age for all kitesurf lessons is 12 years old. Group kitesurf lessons have a higher minimum age of 16 years old (unless the group is exclusively book). In which case, the minimum age can drop down to 12 years old. All students under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian for the duration of the course. The parent is not required to participate in the course if they do not wish to do so, however, they must observe the lesson from the beach.
